Have you ever wanted to learn the art of bonsai? Well, this class is perfect for you! Bonsai is the ancient Japanese art form of growing miniature trees in containers, which helps us connect to nature. This hands-on class is designed for beginners, where you can enter a slow-paced, relaxing, and calm environment.Bonsai means ‘plant in a tray.’ 'Bon' means tray or pot, and 'sai' means plant or planting. This involves stunting a tree's growth by skilful branch and root pruning. The tree is also prohibited from developing by keeping it in a small container. When you begin to bonsai, you are shaping the idea of a tree that belongs somewhere in the future. Bonsai are often passed down through generations as heirlooms, leaving a legacy of hope, serenity, and grace. In this class, you will put together your very own bonsai tree. You will learn how to:
Select your outdoor tree
Select your pot
Consider style
Wiring
Repotting
Pruning
At the end, you will take home your bonsai tree planted in a container, as well as the confidence to continue caring for the plant in years to come!

5/5 from Coco Chan, attended Mar 2026: I booked this class for my boyfriend bday, it’s so fun and we both learned a lot about Bonsai tree like how to pot, choose your own tree and maintain it. Evie is the best, knowledgeable and friendly teacher ever, she is so patient and make sure we get to know whatever we need and want to know during the class. Definitely highly recommended and so worth it!!! Just one thing is the type of bonsai tree you get not guaranteed but it’s totally fine, the most important part is to get the concept and basic knowledge. This class really helping a lot:)
