You will learn about the history of this style of art and the importance of motifs and composition used in traditional Chinese painting.You'll then get to try out these techniques for yourself as you use ink on a scroll to create a beautiful masterpiece of a bird, flower, or landscape and incorporate symbolism and calligraphic elements too! Unleash your inner artist in this fun and relaxing environment and meet like-minded people too.Course content:

• The meaning behind the “four treasures” of Chinese brush painting
• Structure and composition of a Chinese painting
• The various Chinese paintbrushes and when to use them
• Traditional Chinese calligraphic strokes
• Applying a variety of lines on Sumi paper
• Mixing tonal graduations
