State of Writers Workshop

Let’s start writing your book together instead of watching the State of Origin…

1.5 hours Class size 1 to 99 guests       $49 (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

This beginner-friendly online creative writing workshop is perfect for you if you have not written a book and want to, but aren’t sure where to start. Best suited for fiction writers.
Come and join an intro workshop focused on crafting your book’s main character to be personalised and highly relatable, because strong, unique yet believable characters are key for your readers.
This brand-new State of Writers online writing workshop will mimic the State of Origin sports match tonight, where I’ll be your coach and you’re the player (writer)…
Kick-off (Zoom) starts at 8:00pm with cameras on so we can see our fellow teammate – writers.
I’ll share my writing background, so you know I’m a qualified coach to lead the team for our writing match, and we’ll do a quick check-in to see who’s writing from where (it is State of Origin, after all).
In this workshop, there will be two writing halves of 40 minutes each, and a 10-minute break in between to top up your cuppa or glass of wine and refill the snacks.
To get you on the field (AKA writing), I’ll give writing prompts to complete and ideas to explore that will guide you to create and develop a strong hero or heroine for your very first book.
That’s our goal! Not to write the book, just your main character.
You’ll also learn techniques for creating a strong writing practice, and tips to improve your game to get you on your way to the finals (published).
What you’ll get:
  • Guided prompts to create a well-developed main character for your first book, so that following the workshop, you’ll be ready to start writing your novel.
  • Writing frameworks to progress your character’s journey and enhance your story.
  • A published author and experienced writer providing writing exercises, tips, and insightful prompts.
  • So you can focus and write freely in the workshop, a PDF guide of what you learnt will be emailed afterwards, to reuse again and again as you continue writing.
This workshop does not give feedback or suggestions on your book or idea. And you won’t be put on the spot to share your concepts – this is about you, a new writer, in a safe and easy learning environment being guided by a professional writer.
See you soon!
Lisa

female Women-owned

A writer, artist and designer, I spent a lifetime in the corporate and coaching worlds learning about business and people, before finally embracing my creativity full time, publishing my writing and running creative workshops.
I especially love designing unique jewellery, creating self-care items to nurture the soul, building vibrant community, pushing creative boundaries, and of course, writing. If these sound interesting to you also, I look forward to meeting you in one (or several) of my workshops.
Join us in my home studio, online, or pop-up spaces anywhere across the Moreton Bay region, for small, personalised experiences, where you can explore your unique creativity or simply enjoy learning something new!
One last thing… Must Love Dogs… Daxton, our Portuguese Water Dog, is “almost” a therapy dog, who loves food, people and pats, and attending workshops too if it involves the first three! His first art is framed on my wall, and you’ll meet him at our workshops. Daxton is well behaved (well, mostly) and does not shed hair so is practically hypoallergenic. However, if you don’t like dogs, I’m sorry to say but workshops at my home studio aren’t suitable for you as Daxton is always by my side.
Thank you for choosing to share your creative journey with me,
Lisa
p.s. in case you wondered… my first book, Corporate to Creative, published early 2025, is dedicated to supporting creatives to live their creativity in profitable and fulfilling ways. My second book, Gratitude Rising, is about the power of mindset, and is available soon. I also publish an Ink Lily Substack page (@lisapearce11), where I write with attitude, non-subtle motivation, and a dash of optimism when you need it most, for creativity, mindset, careers, and creative businesses.
