6 hours Class size 1 to 6 guests       $315 (Afterpay available)

Ready to unlock the full potential of flash photography?
Learn hands-on in our professional, fully equipped photo studio in Crows Nest — the perfect environment to master lighting techniques that will elevate your portraits and model/fashion images.
Whether you’re working with a simple speedlight at home, or preparing to shoot in a commercial studio, this full-day, hands-on workshop at Flawless Photo Studios will give you the skills and confidence to create striking, professional-quality portrait and modelling images.
Under expert guidance, you’ll explore different lighting styles, from one-light setups you can use at home to more complex studio arrangements, such as multi-light fashion setups with various modifiers and reflectors. We’ll cover everything from the technical foundations to creative approaches, with plenty of time for practical shooting and personalised feedback.
To put theory into practice, you will have the opportunity to photograph a professional fashion model during the session, helping you refine your skills in a real-world setting. The images you capture will be yours to keep, adding high-quality content to your portfolio.
Whether you’re aiming to enhance your portrait work, take your flash skills to the next level, or prepare for a future in professional studio photography, this workshop will equip you with pro-level techniques that set you apart.
Class sizes are kept small (maximum 6 students) for lots of one-on-one guidance.
We take a break for lunch, with a fully equipped dining area where you can relax and recharge. You’re welcome to bring your own meal – a fridge and microwave are available, along with complimentary teas, coffee, and soft drinks. Prefer to head out? Hi, I’m Ian, a professional photographer based in Sydney, specializing in portraits and modelling portfolios. My work has been published by top agencies, including Edge Models, one of Australia’s premier modeling agencies.
I own and manage Flawless Photo Studios, a spacious 150m² studio located in the heart of Crows Nest, just a 1-min walk from the Crows Nest Metro Station.
Having worked alongside Celebrity fashion photographer Kevin Michael Schmitz from New York, I have a deep passion for creating striking, high-impact imagery.
Beyond photography, I love teaching and mentoring aspiring photographers, helping them refine their craft and develop the confidence to bring their creative vision to life.
If you're eager to enhance your skills in a hands-on, supportive environment, I’d love to share my knowledge with you!
