What you'll do
In this engaging and hands-on workshop in Sydney, you will learn the fascinating art of ceramic glazing while sipping on your favourite drink. You don't need any prior experience---this class is perfect for beginners!
We have two options for this class, so make sure you read the below and sign up to the class you are most interested in. See our little explanations below:
Understanding under-glazes on Earthenware
You will learn how to apply glazes to two ceramic pieces, creating unique patterns and designs. To put it simply, under glaze is like paint but it can handle a high temperature firing. So this is the perfect class if you want to get creative with patterns and more intricate designs and would be more appropriate for children if you do have little ones that you plan on bringing along.
You will receive a bowl and small plate to paint, once you have completed the design we help you coat this with a clear glaze and fire it in our kiln for you to collect a few weeks after the class.
Understanding Stoneware glazes
You will learn how to apply stoneware glazes to two ceramic pieces that the Klaypots team have made in the studio. You get to select the pieces and no two are the same. We then teach you how to brush on, dip and pour a selection of stoneware glazes we have in the studio. The two pieces will be available for collection a few weeks after the class.

I am Karina and I am a ceramic artist, business owner and teacher based in Crows Nest on the upper north shore in Sydney. My passion for ceramics started out as a hobby in 2016 and over the last two years has really grown into a small business with a focus on handmade small batch ceramics and tailor-made events for clay lovers and learners.
I have a passion for teaching and making. I'm a very social person and I love meeting new people, teaching others how to create ceramics and explore clay, hosting events and collaborating with other businesses in fun and creative ways.
I hope that I can teach you to make something beautiful.
