Hi, I'm Chirag — a watercolour artist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney, where I teach and mentor graduate students in smart buildings.

Amid the rigour of academia, watercolour is my creative sanctuary.

I love the fluidity, spontaneity — every painting feels alive and impossible to fully control, which is part of the magic. For me, painting is more than a hobby — it's how I stay curious, and reconnect with the joy of making. Research increasingly backs what artists have always known: creative practice is one of the most powerful tools we have for mental wellbeing.

In my workshops, I bring the same clarity and patience I use in the classroom — breaking down an intimidating medium into something approachable and genuinely enjoyable. Whether you're a complete beginner or returning to a brush after years away, I hope to help you enjoy the beautiful unpredictability of watercolour painting.
