Are you a fanatic about all things organic? Join Vishakha at this hands-on workshop and learn how to make exotic Christmas soaps with your own hands using natural ingredients and loaded with essential oils.
During this hands-on class, Vishakha will be demonstrating to you, step by step, the cold process of making essential oil soaps using natural ingredients like organic olive oil, coconut oil and essential oils that not only smell divine but are good for your body and overall well-being.
Given this is a special Christmas workshop, you will be making and taking home exactly the soap that you see in the pictures. You will learn how to use "column embed silicon mould" to make the embeds and use it in your soap loaf to produce the desired effects when cut into vertical bars.
You will be using the essential oils blend of lavender and tea tree oil to work wonders. The process itself is therapeutic something that you would experience for yourself in a workshop.
Your teacher will have organised all ingredients for you beforehand so you don't need to worry about ticking some sort of a list before you arrive.
You will be provided with:
- Caustic soda (sodium hydroxide)
- Oils like olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil, castor oil etc
- Australian clay, French clay, activated charcoal, titanium dioxide
- Various shade mica colours (subject to availability)
- Toppings like lavender buds, calendula, rose petals etc
- Essential oils (a blend of lavender and tea tree oils)
- Plastic jugs, pots, mixers, spatulas, spoons, chopsticks, toothpicks, cleaning supplies etc
- Safety gear like gloves, spectacles etc
You will also be given some tips for drying, cutting, stamping and packaging your handmade soaps. For the soap will take a couple of days to dry before it can be cut depending on weather conditions and then you do nothing but wait for it to fully cure over 6-8 weeks to be ready to be used.
Return home with a whole soap loaf that cuts into 14-16 individual soap bars or start small with individually pouring soap batter in a tray to make you 6 sizeable soap bars. However, for a truly fascinating column embed soaps experience it's a recommended you go for 1.4 Kg soap loaf.
Gift away to your friends and family over Christmas and flaunt your newly learnt skills!
