What you'll do
Over four sessions, learners can come along and enjoy a lot of music!
You will be immersed in music from four different time periods, discovering the differences between each. Every week will have a different focus.
Classes will include a historical overview and setting, guided/focused listening exercises, with follow-up discussion and entertaining anecdotes where applicable!
By the end of the course, learners will:
- Have knowledge of the different periods of music starting from 1600.
- Be able to name several important composers from each period.
- Be able to name some famous pieces from each period.
- Understand the driving motivations of composers during each period.
- Just by listening, be able to make an educated guess at the musical period and composer of any given piece.
Knowledge required
Zero knowledge and skill are required.
