Hi, I’m Jen! I’m a practising artist, muralist and the founder of Colourgyp Creatives, based in Sydney. My own work is colourful and playful, and I love bringing that same energy into our workshops.
Through my art business, Colourgyp, I’ve created murals for workplaces, schools, local councils and businesses, including WOTSO and Oakberry. Colourgyp Creatives brings that experience into hands-on workshops, giving children the chance to learn directly from practising artists and explore painting, clay, tie-dye, mixed media and more.
My favourite part of teaching is seeing children discover what they can do when they’re given the tools, encouragement and freedom to try. In our clay workshops, for example, we introduce techniques and share ideas, then let children take their creations in their own direction. Their imaginations often lead to things we never would have thought of!
I believe learning art should feel welcoming, playful and achievable. There’s something special about getting your hands messy, trying an unfamiliar material and feeling proud of something you’ve made yourself. That’s the experience our team aims to bring to every workshop.
Alongside being an artist and business owner, I’m also a mum. Creativity is a big part of my life, and I love making space for others to enjoy it too!
