Hi, I'm Corinne Loxton — Visual Artist & Nature-Inspired Educator
I'm a visual artist based in the Blue Mountains, and for over 30 years I've been painting landscapes and skyscapes that reflect my deep connection to nature as a place of emotional and spiritual resonance. My work isn’t just about representing the land — it’s about capturing a sense of wonder, longing, and inner stillness.
The ever-shifting light, ancient rocks, and sentinel trees of this region are more than subjects to me — they’re metaphors for life’s experiences: love and loss, joy and sorrow, despair and hope. The Blue Mountains landscape continues to be a constant source of inspiration in my practice.
Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to receive recognition for my work, including the Elioth Gruner Art Prize from the Art Gallery of NSW and a residency at La Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. I’ve also exhibited widely and was a finalist in the NSW Parliament Plein Air Art Prize.
In addition to painting, I love teaching. I run creative workshops and painting retreats where I share my process and passion with others. Whether you're a complete beginner or a more experienced artist, I aim to create a welcoming, encouraging space where you can slow down, reconnect with the natural world, and tap into your creative flow.
In 2023, I had the opportunity to speak at TEDx Katoomba, where I shared my thoughts on connecting with creative flow — a theme that runs through everything I do.
I'd love to welcome you into one of my classes or retreats.
