Are you a complete beginner or in need of a refresher? Are you wishing to learn how to crochet amigurumi using plush yarn? Do you have an amigurumi pattern in mind but don't know how to start?
This warm and welcoming crochet workshop for beginners will be catered to your skill level and is aimed towards those who prefer to have an amigurumi pattern in mind. As you bring these creations to life, you'll master the basic stitches and techniques required for amigurumi.
Although my workshops are geared towards learning how to crochet amigurumi, the techniques learnt can also be applied to other non-amigurumi projects.
What is covered in this workshop:
  • How to hold a crochet hook (right handed) and the working yarn
  • Basic crochet stitches (US terminology), beginning with a slip knot
  • How to read an amigurumi crochet pattern
This private workshop can also be customised for you to learn a non-amigurumi project, such as the granny square using non-plush yarn.
Don’t fret if you’re new to crochet, this activity is designed with beginners in mind. The supportive environment and easy-to-follow instructions will help you feel confident as you dive into this creative experience.
You will begin to craft your very own item to take home and cherish.
Optional Add On: Crochet Starter Toolkit - Includes a 5.5 mm hook, yarn needles and stitch markers. Perfect for beginners who want to continue their crochet journey at home.

Hi Friends! My name is Amy and I’m the business owner behind yubiicraft!
I taught myself how to crochet during school, but was strongly encouraged to book study instead. During Covid, with being a busy mum of two and working a 9-5 job, I rediscovered my creative outlet with colouring, cross stitch and crochet. Amigurumi came into the picture and I was hooked. Crocheting plushies allowed me to nurture both creativity and mindfulness whilst balancing a busy lifestyle.
I’ve always been passionate about knowledge sharing, where at work, I train and support new starters with patience and care.
In my workshops I hope to bring that same energy — creating a supportive space where anyone can learn crochet amigurumi at their own pace. You’ll not only learn techniques and tips, but also enjoy the slower pace and sense of achievement that comes with crafting something with yarn, hook and your own hands.
Whether you’re looking to try something new, nurture your creativity, or simply take a mindful pause in your week, I’d love to share this journey with you. Come join me, and let’s make something beautiful together that will bring you joy.
