Stuart Ian Currie: Passionate Art Educator
I’m excited to share this journey with others, helping them discover the joy and healing power of art.
With a lifelong passion for creativity, I embarked on my formal art journey as a mature-age student, completing my Fine Arts Diploma at Nepean TAFE in 2004 and earning my Fine Arts Bachelor at COFA in 2009, where I achieved 13 distinctions overall.
Driven by a deep enthusiasm for guiding adult learners on their own creative paths, I began teaching at Parramatta Community College in 2023. Now my Art Classes are expanding and I can offer Drawing classes, Watercolour painting classes, Acrylic painting classes, Oil painting classes, and Acrylic Pouring (or Flow) Classes.
Art has always been more than just a craft to me; it’s a way of life. I find beauty in the world around me, drawing inspiration from colours and even the simplest patterns. But art goes beyond aesthetics — it nurtures balance, promotes well-being, and fosters meaningful connections. My classes develop artistic skills and cultivate a strong sense of community, offering profound health benefits in the process.
- Stress Relief: Engaging in art can significantly reduce stress levels.
- Mental Clarity: Art encourages mindfulness and sharpens focus.
- Emotional Expression: Creative activities allow for healthy emotional release.
- Confidence Building: As skills develop, so does self-esteem.
- Social Interaction: My classes provide a supportive environment where friendships can flourish.
In this workshop, professional artist Stuart Ian Currie will teach you how to create stunning watercolour artworks, with the aid of stencils.
