Join Sydney-based artist and educator Sophie Willison for a hands-on exploration of cyanotype printmaking, a unique photographic process that uses UV-sensitive materials and sunlight to create striking blue-toned prints.
In this workshop, Sophie will encourage you to embrace a slower, more intentional approach to art-making.
You'll delve into the cyanotype technique, using plant materials to design your prints while experimenting with composition, texture and the interplay of light and shadow.
Weather permitting, we'll start with a stroll through the local area to gather natural elements for your prints. You'll also have access to a variety of dried botanicals and other materials and you're welcome to bring your own to make your creations even more personal.
Throughout the workshop, you'll create multiple cyanotype pieces to take home harnessing the power of natural sunlight.
