My StoryCiao, I’m Daniel Marcella — Italian Wine Ambassador, storyteller and educator. My love affair with Italian wine began not in fancy cellars, but around family tables: the laughter, the shared meals, the way a bottle could capture a place, a memory, a moment in time. That early intimacy taught me something profound: wine is not just a drink — it is connection, heritage, emotion.As I grew older, passion became purpose. I pursued rigorous training: I became a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, earned certifications with FISAR and ALMA-AIS, and achieved WSET Level 3 in both Wine and Sake. I was honoured to be named an Ambassador for Vinitaly International and recognised as a Knight of Wine and Truffle of Alba — a title that reflects not status, but commitment to preserving Italy’s wine culture, tradition and storytelling. Over the years I have hosted more than 3, 000 wine events and led over 300 professional courses for the hospitality industry across restaurants, wine bars and luxury hotels. I’ve trained teams not only in wine service, but in “Italian hospitality” — teaching how to bring warmth, pride and authenticity to every guest, every pour, every table. With my project Redemption Vino I believe wine can do more than bring joy — it can give purpose. Through free Italian wine and hospitality courses, I offer opportunities to people who need a second chance. Because everyone deserves a chance to shine, to belong, to rebuild.
