I'm Maria from Designs by Poly, and I have several years of experience in "pyrography" - the art of burning designs into wood. All my boards are food-safe and perfect for gifts!

Join me for my “Wood Burning” classes where I teach you how to burn and design your own cheeseboard or keyring holder. My studio is based in Kogarah, but I'm also happy to travel for private classes.

The wood burning was soothing and fun. It made for a very relaxing and enjoyable workshop.

We had lots of time to burn our designs into our boards, and didn’t feel rushed at all.

The class ran with just the two of us, which was great, but it would also make a great team building exercise for a bigger group.

We choose the class mostly for the experience, but are stocked with the final products as well. They actually turned out really great

What a great way to spend a couple of hours with friends. We got to catch up, have a chat and also walked awa with a great items all personalised to our creative side. Small class size which was great and the quiality of the items supplied was fantastic. Would have no hestiations in recommending

Maria was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable and passionate about wood burning. She very helpful and accommodated for my needs (including allowing me to engrave my own bowl, in addition to my beautiful cheese board!) Beautiful backdrop in the florist too. Definitely coming back!

Absolutely amazing class. You felt very welcome aa soon as you walked in. Great value for money Great to with friends or even by yourself. Clear instructions the teacher was awesome so friendly and helpful highly recommended will definitely be doing this again.

This was a fantastic class. Maria was an excellent teacher, the venue was perfect, and my friend and I came away with beautiful boards we were proud to have made in the class, one being a wedding gift for a friend. Had a wonderful Wood Burning workshop that I love so much the wood burning. The teacher is Beautiful Lady and the lovely deaf ladies and the Auslan Interpreter. Lots of laughs and really enjoy. Want Go back another wood burning workshop again. Best ever. xo
