What you'll do
Create your ideal miniature garden for indoors that can sustain itself with this fun terrarium workshop in Canberra! If you’re eager to learn more, this DIY terrarium making workshop is the perfect addition to your indoor garden as it will take care of itself and brighten up your home! No more stress about watering houseplants!
In this workshop you will be making a dry / open terrarium that consists of a glass vessel with an open top and arid or desert like environment. Dry terrariums are easy to care for with watering only needed every 2 - 4 weeks.
Generally speaking, open terrariums are much simpler than a functional closed terrarium – making them a versatile choice for the home or office.
Whether you’re a plant novice or pro, beginners and all levels are encouraged for this workshop. You’ll learn how to build a terrarium, and the best way to layer soil, moss and gravel to create the optimum environment.
Get as creative as you like, customise your mini-ecosystem with a selection of plants and other decorative items which are provided. You can even include things you have around the home to give it a personal touch!
This workshop encourages you to get your hands dirty, slow down and relax by enjoying the calming nature of plants. Leave your worries behind, and take the opportunity to share stories and connect with others whilst you learn how to build your own terrarium.
Please note: The class will run for approximately one hour.

Teacher was happy and friendly. She arrived on time and set everything up ready for us to go. Needs to think about what resources they bring. When we have to mix a lot of soil and sand, bringing only small foil containers is a bit silly - big cheap mixing bowls would make more sense. A small portable vacuum would also be a suggestion.
