'Warami' (Sydney Gadigal Word for hello), welcome to Djuguma Spirit Weaving Masterclass.

I'm so thrilled to offer this masterclass for the first time as a divine Spirit Path Medicine Weaving Masterclass. Embedded within ancient Aboriginal Weaving practices are many medicine teachings that can help to connect, heal and guide us on our unique individual and collective Spirit Path.

In this two-day weaving workshop, we will use Traditional Aboriginal Wellbeing Practices to connect to our Spirits and ask for blessings from Mother Earth and ancestors to guide our hands in the making process, and moving forward in our life path journey.

We will create a collection of beautiful personal Medicine objects for our homes and lives, engaging foundational traditional weaving techniques needed to begin, build and complete each object from begging to end.

Techniques taught during the workshop will include

  • Creation of beginning of coiled basket form
  • Stringwork techniques, binding, loop stitch, twinning, increasing/decreasing
adding new threads, colour and stitch pattern variation, seamless invisible joins.
  • increasing and decreasing foundational bundle shaping to build forms
  • multi-strand weaving techniques
  • three-dimensional sculptural form weaving techniques.

You will make a variety of beautiful unique handmade objects including
  • Medicine Basket (1 or many)
  • Meditation Sculpture (A3 Size)
  • Sacred Spiral Pendant
  • Feather and crystal Smudging Wand

I will encourage you to discover your own unique individual personal weaving language styles, as you learn to connect and honour your inner creative voice.

You will be taught energy reading scanning your body's natural comfort levels to work within safe practices to avoid muscle strains, cramping, and postural stress from incorrect bodywork stiffness or discomfort, we will have five minute stretches each hour and use breath and chant to release, and support of our energy work throughout the creation phases.

Nadeena will offer each participant a personal blessing during the two-day workshop. Each woven object will also be blessed with sacred smoke ceremony.

Throughout the day, we will have a 40 minute lunch break with your choice of BYO lunch or enjoy a yummy lunch from one of the many local Cafes close by.
