3 hours Class size 1 to 6

label $125 (or 4 payments of $31.25 Afterpay)

This three-hour photography tour is perfect if you are at a beginner or an intermediate level, and aiming to improve your digital photography skills.

Along with your experienced teacher, you will be taken through your camera's functions, and, whether you are a tourist or a local, you will capture a new side of Sydney using the manual settings on your camera: exposure control, aperture, shutter speed, ISO and tips on composition, lighting, and white balance.

You’ll learn how to take an interesting portrait, architectural and landscape images, as well as shots using shallow depth of field (blurry backgrounds).

This informal workshop is the perfect opportunity to discover less visited areas of Sydney while developing and mastering your photography skills and style.

I have a very little knowledge of photography and that was the perfect workshop to start with! A excellent tuition accompanied by advice also on composition. Sarah shared with the group many useful info on how use our own camera. We spent the day taking photos of different subjects so that we could understand the different settings involved. I highly recommend a workshop with Sarah! I’m looking to book the next one with her!

Half day course with Sarah was fantastic! I've watched a lot of YouTube and really needed someone to just help me clearly piece that information with my camera, and me, together. I walked away invigorated, ready for more and contemplating what I can do with this in my business once I've had a few more lessons. I was joined by four friendly beginners and thoroughly enjoyed how Sarah got us working together. I'm looking forward to more lessons with Sarah!

This workshop was fantastic. Sarah guided us through some solid foundational knowledge and even took the time to show us individual settings and features for each of our different cameras. As we walked around Kings Cross, Potts Point and Rushcutters Bay, we had plenty of opportunity to shoot different subjects and in different light. Sarah was really good at setting us small tasks/subjects and helping with a few pointers but then letting us practice a few times on our own and then giving us feedback. She also followed up with some reminders via email the next day. I highly recommend this workshop for beginners.

Thoroughly enjoyed the class! Sarah was both friendly and instructive, and with a small group size, there were even time for individual Q&As and personal advice regarding different camera types that class participants were using. I would highly recommend this half day course for beginners, definitely answered a lot of basic questions I had as a beginner about camera function and those mysterious and sometimes daunting photography terminologies! A fun, fruitful and creative experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a wonderful time walking around with Sarah, she gave a great introduction on how to use my mirrorless camera, and able to make the class very personable.

Sarah really knows her stuff and enjoys sharing her knowledge. She is interesting, endlessly patient and willing to answer all questions. Sarah presents a really worthwhile intro into photography, I'm so much more confident with my new camera and all its settings. Great location too.

Sarah's workshop was great being very hands on and specific to each camera that was brought to the class. The group was small enough that everyone had hands on help. Some people had large cameras with lots of lenses, to a small mirrorless like mine. The elements we went through meant it didn't matter, was a crash course in getting good photos without too many fussy elements that you won't ever use as a beginner. It was great to shoot a range of things and test out techniques on people, markets and architecture while exploring Potts Point/Kings Cross. Really enjoyed the day and look forward to playing with my camera more.

Excellent class to get me up and running with my shiny new camera. Sarah demystified the basic concepts and opened up a whole new world of freedom and creative control to really start learning about photography. Highly recommended if you're looking to learn how to get off auto mode and start taking your photos into your own hands in a practical and enjoyable way.
