Hi, I'm Assma, the founder of Etry, and I’m passionate about sharing the rich flavours, traditions, and stories of Moroccan cuisine.My journey started long before I launched my business. I grew up in Morocco, where food was at the heart of family gatherings, celebrations, and everyday life. I learned to cook from my mum and my aunty, spending countless hours in the kitchen watching them prepare traditional Moroccan dishes from scratch. Through them, I discovered that cooking was more than preparing a meal, it was a way of expressing love, hospitality, and culture.As my passion for food grew, I pursued formal culinary studies to strengthen my skills and gain experience working in professional kitchens. Combining traditional family recipes with professional training has allowed me to preserve authentic Moroccan flavours while adapting them to modern catering and teaching experiences.I love teaching because food has an incredible ability to bring people together. Watching students discover new ingredients, learn traditional techniques, and gain confidence in the kitchen is incredibly rewarding. My classes are not just about recipes, they are about sharing culture, stories, and creating memorable experiences.Something many people don't know is that Moroccan cuisine reflects centuries of Amazigh, Arab, African, Mediterranean, and Andalusian influences. Even a simple dish like couscous carries generations of tradition and family heritage. I enjoy sharing these cultural insights alongside practical cooking skills.Over the years, I have catered for community events, corporate functions, and cultural celebrations throughout Sydney.My experience combines traditional Moroccan home cooking, professional catering, pastry production, and community cooking demonstrations. I regularly teach and present Moroccan cooking experiences, helping people discover the beauty of authentic Moroccan flavours in an approachable and enjoyable way.Whether you're joining a class to learn a family recipe, explore a new cuisine, or simply enjoy a fun experience, I look forward to welcoming you into my kitchen and sharing a little piece of Morocco with you.
