Discover the joy of bold florals with painter Ru Biini from Biini Designs, inspired by blooms from leading Sydney florist Bold Botanicals.
Still life doesn't have to be stale! In this watercolour workshop, you'll be drawing from real-life quirky blooms with unexpected colour combinations and compositions. Bold Botanicals' selection is always seasonal and unique.
Be inspired by expressive floral compositions then dive into the magic of watercolours with beginner-friendly techniques to capture your favourite floral elements. Ru will demonstrate key composition and watercolour techniques for florals and foliage, then it's your turn to let loose on the page.
Embrace colour and creativity in a relaxed, supportive environment. If you want to be courageous and shake up your old habits, this one is for you!
This class will be held in the art deco wine tasting room above Goblin Wines. You can browse their selection and bring a wine to class - because this isn't a regular school, it's a fun school! Our classes are all about celebrating vibrant expression through florals and painting.

Hi, I’m Ru Biini, founder of Biini Designs art and textile studio based in the Sydney's inner west. I’ve been painting for over ten years and designing textiles with a focus on creating spaces that feel beautiful, welcoming, and inspiring. Now it's time to take that energy to my workshops.
I believe that creativity requires both courage and support. My workshops are designed to be non-pretentious, high-challenge, and high-support environments where you’ll gain new skills, tools, and—most importantly—trust in yourself to be bold and brave in your creative expression. No prior knowledge required but there's always room to grow. As a queer, neurodivergent artist, I strive to foster spaces that are inclusive, safe, and fun.
Novelty is an essential ingredient in my workshops - unique and seasonal, featuring special guest collaborators like florists, winemakers, photographers, and horticulturalists. You’ll leave not only with fresh skills but with a new way of sensing the world.
