Choose a photo from either my collection of transfers or supply your own photo, and I can make it and resize it into a transfer by prior arrangement.

Whether you have a picture in mind or you're letting the fabric guide the picture, you'll get to choose basic fabrics and textures from your stash.


Layering

Layering

Layer fabrics to create depth and colour variation in your background. You can make it as simple or as complex as you like; if it's complex, more iron-on backing and sewing can create more layers.


Place on to cards, bags or a cushion cover

I can supply canvas or hessian bags, cushion covers and extra cards (at an additional cost).

You can make 6 cards within the session that are yours to take home. The fabric creations are glued onto the cards, and you then have 6 bespoke cards to use for Xmas, birthdays or any occasion you wish.

My name is Debbie. I first attended a 5-day sewing workshop in Uluru 3 years ago. I don't know if it was the spiritual depth of Uluru or just the right place in time, but the sewing part didn't inspire me. However, the recycling of fabric really just felt right. Being an avid op shopper, I had collected some very special pieces of fabric. Now I have something to do with my fabrics with minimal sewing, some gluing, and some ironing, but mostly using materials to create scenes, then applying them to cushions, bags, greeting cards, or framing to decorate. Since that workshop, I have been traveling around, taking inspiration from my surroundings, from the Kimberleys to central Australia, while working in remote Indigenous communities.
