What you'll do
Looking for a fun and relaxing way to spend an afternoon with friends in Sydney and learn a new creative skill? This is an intro to screen printing workshop with a difference!
Jump straight in and learn how to placement print onto fabric using a pre-exposed screen. After a couple of test runs, you'll print a tote bag (or bring your own t-shirt).
While that’s drying, break out the snacks and pour yourself and your friends a glass of wine. Then get really creative and go wild with colour as you hand-paint your tote bag as only you can.
This class brings out the creative in you! It’s easy, fun, and the perfect way to unwind and let your creativity flow!
Your teacher will guide you with step-by-step screen printing instructions and the basics of colour mixing for water-based textile ink painting. You’ll come away with a basic understanding of the screen printing process, class notes for future reference, basic colour-mixing theory, and your very own uniquely hand-printed and painted tote bag plus fabric test pieces.
- No previous experience needed.
- Small class size of 6 max. (Minimum of 2 participants)
- BYO friends, snacks, and wine/beer.
- All equipment and materials, glassware, and serving bowls provided.
- Please wear closed shoes.
- Duration: 2.5 hours
Suitable for ages 12 and up. (Children 12-17 years must attend with a parent/adult carer). Separate classes for teens are offered during school holidays.

The class is held in my textile studio within a working creative warehouse in Marrickville, Sydney. Located approximately 6 minutes' walk from Sydenham station and 7 minutes' walk from Marrickville Metro. Ample street parking is available on the weekend and after 3pm on weekdays.

What to bring

Small fabric batches are designed and printed by the designer Michelle, in her Marrickville studio using only water based inks and natural fibres.
Michelle has been offering creative classes that are inspired by her love of pattern, colour and textiles since 2017. She has taught in schools, in corporate team building sessions and from her studio. She is a keen and skilled teacher who is passionate about passing on the joy of her craft.
