2 hours Location Chippendale Class size 1 to 30 guests   $30 - $35 ($35 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $30/guest for 2+ guests)

Life drawing has long been a foundational practice of classical art and is regarded as the best way to learn to draw the human form. However, most life drawing classes focus on static poses without intention or meaning.
These are great for learning human anatomy, but what do they tell you about the character?
Guided by an illustrator with over 15 years of experience, you'll explore the fundamentals of figure drawing in our enchanted Sydney studio, featuring costumes, props, and professional lighting.
In this class, you will:
  • Sketch from a life costumed model through a series of dynamic, themed poses
  • Learn the fundamentals of figure drawing, anatomy, and visual storytelling in a relaxed environment
  • Learn how to effectively pose characters to convey meaning and story
Purchase two tickets for a discounted price!
What you'll get

  • 5/5 from Lorelei Sneyd, attended Jul 2026: It was an amazing experience! Amazing teacher and wonderful model! The atmosphere was really cozy and welcoming! I liked how there was a detailed explanation at the start of the class and throughout
  • 5/5 from Kieren Zollo, attended Jul 2026: Miles provides a friendly, welcoming and social atmosphere in an accessible location with the perfect vibes
  • 5/5 from Remi Brynn, attended Jul 2026: Amazing life drawing session drawing Grace who was an amazing model with a super cool costume. Great vibes as usual! This is our third visit and we'd love to come again.
  • 5/5 from Madeline Younes, attended Jul 2026: Really great life drawing session enjoyed!!
  • 4/5 from Nathan Barrett, attended Jul 2026: I loved the concept, the room its held in and the culture present. Great choice in music and I liked seeing drawing examples throughout the session. The "character sheet" was also very smart. Minor "issue" was the timed poses shrinking. When i start with short poses to long, it allows me to "write off" the short as just warming up, but by longer to shorter, It results in increasing anxiety and criticism on my own work. 8/10 with an attempt at reasonable normal distribution and 5/10 being my average figure drawing class attendance.
  • 5/5 from Adrian Lee, attended May 2026: Invited by my friend who was the model. Great class! Wonderful atmosphere and lighting, good instructor, patient. Outstanding model of course! Location has adequate parking in neighbouring streets. A fun evening
  • 5/5 from Stacey S Edwards, attended May 2026: Great workshop, kind hosts and very calm atmosphere. Learnt some handy sketching tips.
  • 5/5 from Senuki Wickremarachchi, attended May 2026: The fantasy life drawing for Seanna the Elf Princess had a wonderful, inviting atmosphere. With snacks, tea and drawing materials provided, the experience was interactive, light hearted and supportive. The host explained basic shapes and gestures and how to build on a complex live pose, making it a great learning experience, especially for those who have never been to such a class (like me). Overall, positive experience, and would love to attend one again :)
  • 4/5 from Binita Shah, attended May 2026: Absolutely loved the concept, the hosts and the model, but the room was so hot and stuffy. It was quite uncomfortable to sit in for two hours. Also having more tables would be excellent. Another improvement could be having the model in the middle of the room with everyone in a circle around, rotating after each pose, so everyone can have a direct line of sight. Other than that, had a really great time.
  • 5/5 from Ru Biini, attended Apr 2026: Fantastic class! The model's costume was a fully fledged character. It was so detailed and fun to draw. I left feeling inspired
  • 5/5 from Peak Distapan, attended Apr 2026: As someone who has been to a lot of life drawing nights, this class was a breath of fresh air! The costumed model provided a visually interesting challenge I wasn’t used to with life drawing. Miles provided a lot of useful guidance as we moved though poses and helped break down the more complex costume details for the class. The workshop decor and atmosphere was so cozy and relaxing after a day of work. Can’t wait for the next one!
  • 5/5 from Piers Nelson, attended Apr 2026: Session was a lot of fun and well structured. The host walked us through the basics in the first 20 minutes and then the model held different poses for different amounts of time which let us focus on different things (shape vs detail)
  • 5/5 from Jana Lepojevic, attended Apr 2026: This is a really great life drawing experience. Hosted in a beautiful space. There were good tunes. It was a fun vibe and a little bit out of the ordinary which made it super fun and interesting. Would recommend for anyone but definitely fantasy lovers!
  • 5/5 from Olivia Trimmer, attended Apr 2026: Fantastic class, lots of fun, no pressure, cool art and people :)
  • 4/5 from Anna Beaven, attended Apr 2026: Really enjoyed the atmosphere, nice and quiet, cosy space, and peaceful music in the background. It might be nice to have possibly an afternoon or daytime session.
