Forest Embroidery Class

Learn to stitch beautifully layered trees and forest foliage in this hands-on Sydney embroidery workshop

5 hours Class size 10 to 15 guests       $165

In this relaxing and tactile class, you’ll learn how to layer a variety of threads to create a richly textured forest scene. Using long and short stitches alongside seed stitch, Amy will guide you through techniques that bring depth, colour, and movement to your embroidery.
Whether you’re completely new to hand embroidery or building on skills from previous classes, you’ll come away with your own unique piece and the confidence to keep stitching at home.
This is a brand-new theme from Amy Jones, ideal for both beginners and returning students who’ve enjoyed past workshops like Scribbly Gum, Jewelled Moss, or Rainbow Coral.
During the class, you will learn:
  • How to use long and short stitch, and seed stitch
  • Tips for layering threads to create depth and texture
  • Techniques for stitching trees, leaves and foliage
You’ll also have the opportunity to view original textile art pieces for inspiration and gain insight into the design process when planning your piece.
This class will be held at Made By Me Workshop in St Peters, Sydney. It’s a calm, welcoming space designed to help you slow down, be creative, and leave with something truly Made By You.
We will provide refreshments and a delicious light vegetarian lunch for all attendees. If you have specific dietary requirements, please let us know in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Made by Me Workshop is about helping people to connect with their "inner creative" and have some fun while making beautiful things from quality materials in our friendly & vibrant studio space in the heart of the inner west!
Established in 2017 after Rebecca Doyle decided to take a career break and chose to revisit her childhood love for arts & crafts. Rebecca grew up in a large family where money was tight, after school activities where mostly homegrown and usually involved a sheet of cardboard, a glue stick and some glitter! It is probably no surprise to learn that Rebecca followed a creative path to study Fashion & Textile Design at University!
After a few more decades (than Rebecca will publicly admit to) and a long and varied career in the fashion industry, Rebecca wanted to get back to creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects - Made By Me Workshop is the result of where this path led.
Rebecca loves that moment of pride that comes over each participant's face when they look at what they have created and say to themselves "Wow - I made this & I love it!"
Made by Me Workshop run a variety of creative workshops, hen’s parties, private parties and corporate events from their warehouse space in St Peters including Resin Art, Resin Jewellery & Mould Making, Soap Making, Terrazzo Homewares, Punch Needle, Macrame and many more.
