Formston Ceramics are a family of ceramic artists and teachers with around 100 years of experience between our three teachers! We are passionate about creating high quality, durable, high fired stoneware ceramics and teaching others the art of pottery. As simple or complex as suits individual needs, we offer a range of courses including wheel throwing, hand building, glazing and firing techniques.

Recommend this class to beginners. Great group session (I went by myself) with a wonderful instructor. All materials provided. Welcomed with coffee, wine & a lovely cheese board. Venue easy to find. I look forward to seeing my masterpieces in a few weeks time. Definitely value for money - I’ll be back!

Loved this! Great way to spend an afternoon, met with cheese platter and wine. Teachers were amazing, knowledgeable and supportive. Was a relaxed and fun atmosphere. We had so much fun that we lost track of time. Definitely recommend and would do again.

This was my grandchildren's first experience at pottery. The class was excellent. Their teacher was patient and gave easy to follow instructions. Both girls ,7 and 9 had so much fun and wanted to return for more classes. It was a credit to their teacher. Money well spent.

We had so much fun. 3 generations in the class from 63 to 10 years old, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the themselves. Pat was fantastic and very helpful throughout the class. Everything was supplied and ready to do go when we got there. I highly recommend this class for all ages

Loved our private session with Kirsten. She was a wonderful and patient teacher with a great home studio setup. All materials were provided on the day and we are excited to see the finished product. There's something so therapeutic about getting your hands dirty, and there is a real skill to wheel throwing that we're yet to unlock - but we had fun trying!

The equipment was good quality and easy to use.
The venue was bright, airy and a pleasure to be in.
The teacher gave good explanations and assisted where needed without taking over.

It was an enjoyable experience, and we were pleased with the pieces we were able to create as first-timers.
The only down side was that there was a lot of explanation at the start that I struggled to remember when actually getting around to doing myself. It would help to instead have a piece of clay to work with step by step while going through each instruction, and possibly having a cheat sheet on the table with written dot points as a reminder.

We all had such a beautiful time with the lovely ladies at Formston Ceramics on Sunday. They were endlessly patient with us and provided beautiful refreshments.

It was so much fun to work with our hands in their intimate studio to create beautiful (wonky, but beautiful!) pieces of art that we can call our own!
