Were you that doodler who loved to scribble, then you stopped drawing over the next 20 (or 50) years because - well, life, and you're now not sure how to get back into it? Then you're in the right place!
During this live streaming drawing course we will start from the basics and build our way up to sketching figures.
The course outline is below:
  • Class 1: Lines and Curves
  • Class 2: Shapes and Forms
  • Class 3: Measuring I
  • Class 4: Measuring II
  • Class 5: Gestures
  • Class 6: Figures I
  • Class 7: Figures II
Each Class is standalone. And it is recommended to take the classes sequentially to build up the skills. You may start or stop as you like, because life happens.
Why are these skills important? Any design or artwork is made up of lines (even if they are invisible!). Each class builds on the previous where you'll gain confidence in your drawing skills, learn new ways of seeing yourself and the world around you.
And while you are honing your skills at home, you may also contact your teacher about any doubts or issues, and to work on these together.
Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly.
What to bring
Pen/pencils and paper OR digital drawing pad and stylus eg. iPad.

  • 5/5 from Daley Chaston, attended Jan 2021: Qi was lovely and I appreciated how she had a clear plan for our session, which included insights into how we learn as humans. I also benefited from her focus on using fine motor skills, and how much this can inform our drawing process. The getting to know you form before the class started was a nice touch too. It was a very thoughtful, well planned and considered session and I got a lot out of it. Thank you!
  • 5/5 from Eliza Holder, attended Jan 2021: Qi is a lovely teacher. She gave me a lot of good information to help me in improving my drawing skills. It was fun chatting with her too, she is a lovely person to talk to! I also appreciated that she sent me the notes from the lesson we had had and provided some homework tasks.

You are never too old to learn how to draw!
If you've wanted to start drawing and painting, but you fear it's too late to start, or you've done some drawing and want to improve, then here is where you belong.
I'm a late starter to art and drawing myself - and I find it to be very meditative, with paper or iPad and a cup of tea, and hours would melt away. I still find joy in learning new art skills, exploring new learning techniques and taking delight in the drawing process as well as the final art work.
