This is a unique opportunity to study with the artist in her studio by the sea. You'll have an inspiring weekend and get the creative juices flowing.

This two-day workshop will take you on an intensive journey into the creative possibilities of kiln cast glass. Your instructor will demystify the casting process by teaching you how to model and form positives in clay to make simple open moulds. Your instructor will also demonstrate the use of Gel-Flex rubber.

This course will cater to all levels of ability. You can learn the basics of glass casting from start to finish with professional guidance.

Sallie Portnoy studied ceramics at NSCAD in Canada and Cofa in Sydney as well as her masters in glass at SCA. She has worked in glass and ceramics for more than 35 years & has taught children, teens and adults glass fusing, slumping, casting, mould making, mosaics and ceramics. Portnoy exhibits nationally and internationally and has won numerous awards and commissions for public art. She has taught workshops throughout Australia and Canada and at the Glass Furnace in Turkey, Corning Museum of Glass NY & Pilchuck Glass near Seattle. Portnoy has been teaching workshops from her studio on the Northern Beaches of Sydney since 1987.This is a unique opportunity to study with the artist in her studio by the sea.
