• 5/5 from Jam Cox, attended Sep 2026: This class was so fun and interesting! And the teacher Aybike was kind, patient, and very talented and knowledgeable. I’ve never done anything like this before, but Aybike gave great instructions and made us feel safe and comfortable working with the glass and fire. I went for my birthday and brought along my dad, who had way more fun than he expected, and we left with a handful each of unique and gorgeous beads!

Aybike was wonderful and explained every step of making our own beads so clearly. She shared a wealth of helpful tips and offered plenty of guidance as we created our beads and jewellery. My friend and I each walked away with several beautiful pieces and a newfound hobby! We’ll definitely be back to try more classes.
• 5/5 from Tracey Lau, attended Jul 2026: I booked this class to celebrate an anniversary with my boyfriend and we loved our experience. We did the ‘Birds in the Tree’ class. Mark was super easy to organise with, and even accommodated for my anniversary idea of having a larger custom tree to share with my partner rather than two individual trees. Simi and Aybike were lovely and made the whole experience super memorable. They demonstrate first, and then you are hands-on and give it a go yourself. They were very encouraging and never hesitated to jump in and help when we were stuck. It does feel a bit daunting at first, and I wouldn’t expect your first bird to be perfect, but that is what made it so much fun! Each bird is unique and we got to choose the colours and patterns for them. They explained that the tree base is made from glass scraps from their studio, and the wooden base is sourced from the wood shop downstairs. It was super cool to know! We left the experience with big smiles on our faces, and a beautiful tree to take home. I definitely made a few birds I was really proud of, and my boyfriend loved his experience gift. I’d definitely recommend this for couples, friends or even singles looking to be crafty or learn a new skill. This is a wonderful and supportive environment to learn in. We will definitely be back for another workshop (hopefully some glass fruit and veg?).

There are so many different classes on offer, so the only difficulty was narrowing down what I wanted to do. Mark Eliott's glass bead making workshop was a colourful wonderland. The teachers were thorough, patient and helpful (and clearly very experienced). Furthermore, Mark was very responsive to email and text communications when I had to reschedule last minute due to medical reasons. To my surprise, after creating our beads, we also had time to string them into necklaces, bracelets and/or earrings, thus walking away with many wearable pieces. Highly recommended!

They made me feel confident to experiment with size, shape, colour, patterns etc. My friend and I left with some beautiful beads. I look forward to coming back and doing it again sometime.

Simi and Aybike were so friendly and welcoming they went above and beyond expectations. My wife and I had a quick intro followed by a couple of hours of great fun, pro tips and some laughs at my terrible pokeball. It was easily one our best date night(afternoon) activities, it’ll def be going back on the list and will be recommended to all our friends. Oh and we might bring our daughters next time so they won’t have to fight over my doughnut beads and they can make their own.

From the organised, inviting studio to the warmth and attentiveness of Aybike—a talented Turkish glass artist—along with Simi’s dedicated support throughout, the experience was exceptional. It was our first time working with soft Murano glass, and it was mesmerising to work with the flame and shape the molten glass. We loved the perfect balance of learning tips, engaging demonstrations, and the freedom to create whatever inspired us—whether jewellery, keychains, or little sculptures. Each piece was completely our own, and learning from Aybike brought unique skills and techniques we’d never tried before. Our creative spirits were truly ignited. We can’t wait to be back! Thank you for your patience, skill, and genuine care in guiding us into the world of soft glass making.
