Q: Is this a drop-off class?
No. This is a parent-and-child masterclass. One adult must attend and participate alongside their child for the entire session.
Q: Who is this class designed for?
The class is designed for parents, carers, or guardians who want to learn practical hairstyling skills while working directly with their child. No prior hairstyling experience is needed.
Q: What age is this workshop suitable for?
This workshop is best suited for school-aged children. If you’re unsure whether your child is the right fit, feel free to reach out and we can guide you.
Q: How does the class work on the day?
You will work as a duo, with the adult styling their own child. Our educators demonstrate techniques step-by-step, then guide you as you practise together.
Q: Do I need to know how to do hair already?
Not at all. This class is beginner-friendly and designed to give you easy, repeatable techniques you can confidently recreate at home.
Q: What will we learn?
You’ll learn age-appropriate hairstyling techniques such as braiding, weaving, and simple styles that are practical for school, sport, and special occasions.
Q: What do we need to bring?
Please bring your child as your model with knot-free hair and their favourite hairbrush. Everything else is provided for use during the workshop.
Q: Can multiple children attend with one adult?
Each child requires their own participating adult and booking to ensure adequate supervision and learning support.
Q: What if my child becomes tired or overwhelmed?
That’s completely okay. The workshop is relaxed and supportive, and you are there with your child the entire time to guide and support them. You can step out at any time or leave early if needed with your take home guide and styling pack.
Q: Is this suitable for all hair types?
Most techniques can be adapted for different hair types and textures, and our educators will offer guidance where needed however not every type of braid or hairstyle will work for every hair type. Our educators can assist with finding alternative options for your child's hair texture.
Q: What is the cancellation or refund policy?
Due to limited spaces and preparation involved, bookings are non-refundable. Please contact us if you have exceptional circumstances.
Q: What is your policy regarding head lice?
Unfortunately, due to our duty of care and hygiene standards, we are unable to welcome children into the class if they currently have head lice or nits. This is to ensure there is no risk of cross-contamination between children during the workshop. If your child has head lice, we kindly ask that they complete treatment and fully eradicate the lice before attending. If you’re unsure or need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss the best option. We appreciate your understanding as we work to provide a safe, hygienic, and comfortable environment for all families attending the Kids Hairstyling Masterclass.
