What you'll do

Have you been dreaming about making your own ceramics? Well now’s your chance to learn with Catherine Field from Splendid Wren Ceramics. This class will give an introduction to working with stoneware clay and in particular the techniques for making pinch pots, Catherine will guide participants through making pieces of their choice.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
How to create beautiful ceramics using the Pinching technique.

PRICE:
$130 per person
Price includes tuition as you create your work from one kg of stoneware clay and the firing of the work made from that clay. Work will be available for collection from Botany approximately four weeks after your class.

Your teacher will direct and assist as required to ensure you create pieces you are happy with. All materials will be provided – the clay, the tools and examples of shapes.

Catherine Field is the maker behind the Splendid Wren Ceramics range of handmade homewares from Bondi Beach, Australia which focuses on functional simplicity. Her pieces are made using traditional hand building techniques from a range of stoneware clays. They are then high fired to stoneware temperatures to ensure their durability. No two pieces are the same. They feature natural, earthy glazes and often there will be a finger print or makers mark to remind users that it was made by hand.
Her work is available at: The Australian Design Centre, Commune Bondi, The DEA Store (East), Orchard Street, Michael Reid Clay, We Are Mindful, Paperbark Camp and on her website.

Ceramics workshops are the ideal activity for a group to participate in, perfect for bonding, team building or celebration where each participant will create their own piece/s which will be glazed and fired and available for collection approximately 4 weeks after the workshop.
