Looking for a unique kid's activity in Sydney? Join Seed and Spark for a fun jesmonite class, specifically tailored for little creatives. Make a vase and trinket tray that is usable and kids will love!
A friendly, local teacher will support your child through every step of this craft workshop as they make a terrazzo oval or seashell trinket tray and vase. The material they will be using is jesmonite, a gypsum and acrylic-based material that is solvent-free, non-toxic and has no VOC's and is often called an eco-resin.
In this craft class in Sydney, kids will learn:
- How to mix and add colours to the Jesmonite to create their own choice of colour palette.
- Create their own coloured chips (of two colours) that will go into their terrazzo mix.
- Cast the materials into a silicon mould for their chosen shape.
Once their pieces have been poured and cured, the teacher will show them how to sand and seal the tray. They will then go home with the kids as well as some sandpaper just to finish the hob. Then they'll be ready to be used in their room as a piece of DIY home decor!
This jesmonite workshop is about creativity and connection. As the little artists get in touch with their imagination and explore a world of colour, they'll also get the opportunity to meet new friends and be social. It's perfect as a school activity or birthday party idea to keep your kids entertained, and learning new skills away from their screens.
Class sizes are always kept small so that you enjoy hands-on assistance while you learn and create.
You can add these when you book (optional).
