Meet Alysha, Founder of Ladies Who Bluff

I’ve always loved bringing people together, creating memorable experiences and, if I’m honest, adding a little friendly competition into the mix!

Ladies Who Bluff was born from a simple idea: why should poker nights be dominated by the boys? I wanted to create something glamorous, social and genuinely fun for women, where you don't need to know anything about poker to join in.

With more than 10 years’ experience in marketing, design and creating brands and experiences, I’m passionate about creating things that make people feel connected, confident and excited. I saw an opportunity to take the traditional poker night and give it a completely different feel: think beautiful setups, a professional poker dealer, a little Prosecco, plenty of laughs and a healthy dose of competitive spirit.

What I love most about Ladies Who Bluff is watching the transformation that happens during a game. People often arrive saying, “I’ve never played poker before!” or “I’m terrible at bluffing!” and within minutes they're leaning across the table, reading their friends' faces and getting surprisingly competitive. It's amazing how quickly a poker table can break the ice and get a group laughing and connecting.

I’m also passionate about making poker approachable. You don't need a poker face, a poker background or any experience at all. I love teaching beginners the basics and seeing that little lightbulb moment when they realise they actually know what they're doing.

Ladies Who Bluff is my second business, alongside my award-winning graphic design studio for which I’m proud to have been named 2023 Outstanding Solo Operator at the Local Business Awards, and a finalist again in 2024, 2025 and 2026.

But perhaps the most important thing to know about me is that I believe the best experiences don't have to be complicated. They just need to make people feel good.

So whether you're planning a girls' night, birthday, hens party, celebration or team event, I'll bring the poker table, teach you the game and make sure everyone feels welcome.
