What you'll do
Enjoy the relaxing art of mandala at this online class and learn how to draw something beautiful and meaningful with Elsa Maria.
This is a fusion mandala. It has three elements - the ancient Yin Yang symbol, a Greek border design and a traditional mandala design.
During the class, you'll learn a bit about the history of these different elements. Learn how to construct the beautiful ancient symbol of Yin Yang using a compass, draw a very old Greek border pattern and learn the basics of traditional mandala making - how to draw the underling mandala grid and populate it with patterns.
After you draw these, you'll colour the Yang of the Yin Yang and bring all these different elements together to make a beautiful artwork.
It is very relaxing to learn how to draw this unique mandala, very satisfying to construct the Yin Yang correctly and as a bonus, you'll get to know a little bit more about ancient artforms!

- Plain sheet A4 size (if you'll use watercolour for the yin yang, please get watercolour paper or mixed media paper of a minimum of 170gsm. If you'll use colour pencils or any other colour, any art paper will do.)
- Basic compass
- Basic protractor
- 30cm ruler
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Black fine liner pen or any black gel pen
- Any colour (we have used metallic gold watercolour).
