Qigong is a deeply relaxing and enjoyable experience that helps you let go of the stresses of the day, calm a busy mind, and feel more energised. This term of classes offers a comprehensive, authentic, and interactive experience of Qigong, guided by Master Instructor Adam Wiltshire, the founder of Dragonfly Qigong.
Qigong works by combining breathing techniques and movement meditations to balance and detoxify the body, as well as stimulate its natural self-healing abilities. The ancient system of wisdom, knowledge, and Chinese medicine that underpins Qigong offers you a powerful and transformational practice that, when practised regularly, can create deep and lasting change in your life.
During this 6-week term, we will explore the little-known connection between the organs, emotions, and the Chinese 5 elements, understanding that we can store emotions in our different organs and that over time these emotions can become stuck, stagnant, and unbalanced in the body. Each Qigong movement targets specific organs, emotions, and meridian channels, providing you with everything you need to start feeling a positive change.
You will learn the popular Shibashi Set 1 forms. This form is accessible to all body types and can be easily adapted for people with injuries or movement restrictions.
This Qigong form is more Yin, meaning it is more meditative, relaxing, and gentle than other Qigong styles. You will be standing up for the duration of each class and need to be comfortable standing for that length of time. Participants are advised not to eat a large meal at least 2 hours before class starts, as this form works directly with the detoxification of the organs.
Our classes are designed for complete beginners and for practitioners with some experience. After participating in a Qigong class, you can expect to walk away feeling noticeably calmer, more energised, and present in your body. During this class, you will learn directly from Master Instructor Adam Wiltshire, who has been teaching Qigong classes, workshops, and retreats for over 8 years.

Adam Wiltshire

Adam Wiltshire is the founder and principal teacher of Dragonfly Qigong and has been offering Qigong classes across Sydney for 7 years. He has trained with master teachers from around the world and teaches 7 different traditional styles of Qigong forms that include a mix of Medical Qigong and Taoist Medical Qigong. All the styles that Adam teaches are based on the theoretical framework of either Traditional Chinese Medicine or Classical Chinese Medicine and come from a long lineage of teachers. Adam is also a practicing counsellor and psychotherapist which informs his approach to teaching Qigong in being trauma-informed and emotionally attuned to the healing potential of the body.
