Relax, learn how to paint, and complete a photo-realistic work of art in this online painting class!

This online class is perfect for anyone from complete beginners to experienced painters who want to learn tips and tricks for painting photo-realistically. Many of the participants in these classes have never painted before, and are now doing paintings they never thought were possible!

Before this class begins, you'll be emailed a photo with a grid on it, which you'll replicate in the virtual painting class. We tell you the paint colours you need and the brushes, so you can be prepared with all your materials on the day of class.

Along with learning painting, we have a lot of fun. We laugh, we chat, we share stories of our past week, and it is a really beautiful online community with others to learn and connect through the amazing creative medium of oil painting. Come for one class or return as often as you like! We do a new painting each week.

Oil painting photo-realistically is amazing because it helps calm the mind and reduces stress. When you focus on painting, the worries of the day disappear!

Come and join us for this creative virtual experience. You'll leave with an amazing completed painting you will be proud to show your friends and family!

Add-on available for this class
  • Painting Packs ($67)
You can add these when you book (optional).

Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly for sure! Anyone can learn to paint with oils, you just need eyes, a brain and at least one hand!

What to bring
  • An A4 canvas pad, or an A5 canvas ready to go. (I mask up an A5 area on an A4 canvas pad).
  • Masking tape.
  • 2-3 brushes of different sizes. Soft watercolour brushes are best. I love using Filbert size 4-8 brushes and round 3 and 8 too. (give or take a few numbers).
  • Medium. I use Langridge Low toxic medium, but a middle of the range medium will work fine.
  • Paper towel.
  • A palette, basically something that is waterproof to put your paints out on. I use Paper palette paper, but a meat tray is fine.
Oil Paints. (If you only have acrylics that's fine.) As long as you have a range of reds, yellows, blues, some brown, black and white you will be fine.
Optional: We do have painting packs available if you are interested.

Hey there! Welcome to my online teaching site! I'm passionate about helping people find their creative voice.
I currently teach painting and other creative courses in my Mountain Studio (Kapi Art Space, in Kalorama) and the Melbourne Studio - and also online!

Having grown up in rural Victoria and then lived in Tasmania for almost 20 years, nature and community has been a big part of my world. When I burnt out many years ago, I needed something to help me find comfort and direction. I fell in love with painting nature in a photorealistic way during this time, then went on to teach others.

Space jump 10 years or so I now have over 100 students a week, many who have said painting has changed their lives, as it did mine!

I have many stories to share and look forward to you joining my online classes where you can learn to paint anything... and we will no doubt have a yarn about how creativity can help you too!
