Want to learn editing with Lightroom but don't know where to start? Join this two week course for beginners!
Join us for 6 hours of Lightroom Tuition over 2 nights.
In this course, you will discover the ins and outs of Lightroom while creating impactful images that will make your photography stand out.
Throughout the course, our experienced teacher will guide you through the process of setting up your Lightroom Catalogue and folders, teaching you how to efficiently organise your photos. You'll also learn essential workflow techniques and backup strategies to ensure your images are safe.
You'll also learn how to make non-destructive adjustments that enhance the quality of your images. Discover techniques to restore lost detail in highlights and shadows, and even apply special effects that bring your images to life.
We'll provide practice images for you to follow along, but feel free to bring your own photos to work on as well.

Week one - Introduction to Lightroom
- Setting up your catalogue: Identity plate, watermarks and metadata
- Importing photos: copy, move or add and file handling
- Sorting and selecting images: flags, ratings, labels
- Managing the image library: Filters, key wording, quick develop
- Collections: basic collection, smart collections and target collections
- Exporting basics: Locations, file naming, file sizing, file formats, presets
- Back up: Where and how
Week two - The Develop Module
- Fixing and enhancing: histograms, detail, lens corrections, tone curve, HSL
- Local adjustments: Crop, spot removal, red eye, filters, adjustment brush, sky selection
- Batch editing
- Editing externally: 3rd party software
- Presets: Importing and using presets
- Work on final image for critique
All workshops include a mixture of theory, demonstrations and hands-on activities. You will be provided with a broad assortment of practice photos and Lightroom presets, so you can continue to revisit the exercises after you complete the course.
Bring your laptop and a functional copy of Adobe Lightroom and be ready to bring your images to life!
