I’m Ricky, founder of LUNETTES ART LAB and creator of the LUNETTES ART WORKSHOP.
For over a decade, I’ve been immersed in the world of eyewear — adjusting, restoring, designing, and eventually crafting frames entirely by hand. But I didn’t start out as a maker. Years ago, I struggled to find glasses that truly fit my face and personality. Everything felt generic, and that frustration sparked a journey — one that led me to master the craft of eyewear and share it with others.
Today, I’m proud to be the first and only certified handcrafted eyewear maker in Australia, trained by MOF Lunetiers in France — an honor I carry with deep responsibility. But beyond titles, what drives me is this belief: eyewear can change the way someone sees — and sees themselves.
That’s why I created the LUNETTES ART WORKSHOP.
This is not just a class. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience where anyone — whether you’re a curious beginner or a seasoned creative — can craft their own glasses or sunnies from scratch. You’ll cut, shape, sand, and assemble your frame by hand. We finish by attaching the temple arms and custom nose pads to make it truly yours. It’s not just a product — it’s a reflection of you.
Our workshops are small and personal (max 6 people), and every session is filled with quiet focus, laughs, and that amazing moment when someone holds up their finished frame with pride. That’s what I live for.
We’ve welcomed solo travelers, couples, local creatives, and corporate teams looking for a new kind of bonding experience. Many have never held a hand tool before — and that’s totally fine. We guide you every step of the way.
We’ve been featured on SBS, highlighted in local media, and have received heartfelt feedback from students who return or gift the experience to loved ones. I’ve also had the privilege of solving thousands of eyewear problems through fitting and repair — all of which enrich the workshop experience.
But above all, this workshop is about slowing down, making with intention, and reconnecting with your hands.
Come craft with us. You’ll leave with a new pair of glasses — but gain something far more personal.
