In this workshop, you will learn the step by step process of creating quality macro photos from an expert photographer. You will learn the basic macro photography skills to create images that are larger than life!

You'll learn all about the art of macro shooting, as well as hone your creative photography style with help from your expert guide.

What you will learn in this class:

  • The difference between macro and close up photography
  • Understand depth ratios and life-size measurements
  • How to use lenses and macro accessories
  • Explore macro lighting techniques using reflectors, shapers and diffusers
  • How to work with various natural light - directional, diffused and backlit
  • Hands-on techniques for manual and semi-manual modes, including depth of field variability
  • Composition and how to get creative by using unusual angles and leading lines

Knowledge required

Please note: In this workshop we practise the art of handheld macro and closeup work. A tripod is not essential but of course valuable.
