What you'll do
Looking for team building ideas or things to do at home? Join Rebel Stepz for this online mandala clay and painting workshop which will leave you feeling calm and focused.
A mandala, which is Sanskrit for “circle” or “discoid object, ” is a geometric design that holds a great deal of symbolism in Hindu and Buddhist cultures. Mandalas are believed to represent different aspects of the universe and are used as instruments of meditation and symbols of prayer most notably in China, Japan, and Tibet. While extraordinary as a standalone work of art, mandalas hold symbolic and meditative meaning beyond their vibrant appearance.
In this virtual workshop, a friendly expert will take you through simple steps so you can learn how to create and design your own mandala that will then be transferred to your canvas.
From there, you'll give your mandala a 3D element by using clay and mosaic mirrors which will create texture, color and light. This way of working is inspired by Lippan Art, a clay art form from the state of Gujarat, India. It is mostly done by the village ladies from Kutch to decorate their homes.

Workshops can be organised in person (for those based in Melbourne) or online for other areas of Australia.
