Step into a world of memorable flavours and aromas at The Fox Hole in Sydney! Just a short walk from Wynyard Station, this London-inspired laneway bar founded by spirits expert James Harvey-Fiander, is the perfect place to savour a drink and spend a cosy evening with friends.

More than your regular bar, The Fox Hole shares with you the fascinating stories behind your favourite drink. Gin, whisky, rum or scotch—The Fox Hole is home to one of the most expansive and carefully curated collections of spirits.

Head down the stairs and get ready to ignite your senses with the smell and taste of refreshing mint to the smoky oak intrinsic to an old fashioned cocktail.

The Fox Hole started out of an unexpected detour…

“My partner and I were in London and we saw a sign for afternoon tea. We followed the sign, and it led us down a series of laneways to end up in a place called Mayfair. It felt like a cosy night time bar but it was three o'clock in the afternoon. It inspired us to make a bar that you would find in the back streets of London in 2024.”

“We've turned from being a small bar into storytellers, where our bartenders are more than people who serve drinks. They know the stories that sit behind each of the drinks and meals they're serving and are able to share with you.”

“When we put a new gin, whiskey or tequila on the back bar, we won't be looking for something that's the right price, or the right style or simply delicious—we want all of those things but we also want to know their story. Every drink that we have has a unique story to tell.” 

Experience both local and global flavours…

“We absolutely want to support our local craft distillers, as well as make sure that we're environmentally friendly in the way that we procure spirits. But we also want to help people experience specific spirit styles that perhaps you can't unless it's made in a particular place.” 

One thing you might not know about gin…

“You can make it from just about anything. Grapes, rice or any carbohydrate that ferments well—you can create a gin from.”
