Nasreen Hassan

Hi! I’m Nasreen (Nas for short), a self taught watercolour artist, qualified surface pattern designer, and educator based in Brisbane.

I began a mindful painting practice in early 2021 to improve my mental health. It helped be become present and grounded and through it I began to discover the beauty and joy of life and built a wonderful community of like minded friends and creatives through it.

I qualified as a Surface Pattern Designer in 2019. I create vibrant prints and patterns for use on products as well as art prints for your home. I also work as a Health Administrator part time, enjoy volunteering feeding the homeless and travel whenever I can to broaden my horizons so to speak.
I have several years of experience teaching in different capacities. I’ve taught English overseas while travelling as well as trained others and shared my knowledge within the health setting.
I’m passionate to share with you the beautiful experience of mindful modern art.

My work is inspired by nature mostly, where I spend most of my time. Travel and cultural events also add their flavour to my work. I’m drawn to a vibrant, colourful palette and implement the Principles and Elements of Design into my creative work. I have an passion and extensive knowledge of colour, colour mixing, colour theory, and colour psychology. Art and Design is both my passion and my calling in life.

My mission is to teach anyone how to tap into their creative spirit, even if you think you’re not artistic, and help you experience both the joy and healing properties of creating art.
