Your teacher
I'm Isabella, a knitter, textile artist and fashion designer working with natural materials to create timeless pieces from discarded fabrics. I aim to make pieces people will own and love for years by transforming waste products with traditional, slow techniques such as natural dyeing, hand sewing, embroidery, hand and machine knitting, and visible mending. I have been knitting and dyeing for more than 10 years, but the last few years I have been especially interested in natural dyeing and the processes required. I love the deliberate nature of these techniques, they force us to slow down and be intentional in our actions. In my workshops you will learn techniques to allow you to create something completely on your own in class, and take the skills you've learned home with you so that you can repeat and refine your process in your own time. The classes are paced gently, with time to experiment and focus without rushing. I hope to see you at the next workshop!
