Sheila is an artist based in Sydney. She has loved drawing and painting since she was a young child, but put it on pause in pursuit of a traditional career. However in 2014 she reconnected with her creativity and followed her true path, resulting in the launch of Funky Portrait where she offers her services as a professional portrait artist.

After numerous requests to teach people how to draw and paint, she created an opportunity for others to learn, hosting a mini-workshop in her home. Whilst teaching this small eager group, they also enjoyed wine, cheese and nibbles in a relaxed atmosphere. The event was a fabulous success, and since then Sheila has responded to a number of requests to host such events at various businesses and venues ranging from 4 to 30 persons!

Observing the booming Paint n Sip industry in Sydney, Sheila realised that this could be a ‘thing’, a ‘thing’ where she could combine her skills and passion and share the joy with more and more people, who happily travel near or far to place paint to canvas while sipping BYO wine!

Sheila’s true passion is to inspire people to reconnect to their creativity, gaining the benefits of safely expressing themselves through Art. Sheila knows first hand the joy of taking up this fulfilling hobby after placing it on pause, and can relate to others who may have done the same.

Whether painting is a hobby you gave up years ago, or you want to try painting for the first time, Social Painting is open to everyone who wants to give it a go! The best thing about it is you can share the experience together with like-minded friends.

Why can’t everyone just enjoy Art?
