Do your kids love snapping photos? Or do they wish they could take better photos with just a smartphone? If so, then this workshop is for them! Photography skills are super useful for everyday life and the basics will stick with kids for years to come and help them in both their personal and professional lives.
In this class, kids will learn how to take better photos with a smartphone by understanding:
- The secret of light and exposing for that light.
- The phone camera and lens as your tools.
- How to compose to create strong images.
- Editing tips and what to do with the photos.
During this online workshop (via Zoom), we use visuals and on-phone demonstrations to keep things simple and clear. There will be three sessions of 45 minutes, with short breaks. Kids will also perform a small number of simple exercises to practice as the workshop progresses. There will be plenty of time to ask questions; it's all about learning!
The result will be to combine all these new skills to create the photos they 'see' in their mind so that they can impress family and friends.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 10 years old).
Adult accompaniment is not required.
After completing a Diploma of Commercial Photography and now, with over 3 decades experience in the Advertising Industry, Chris is an energetic, passionate, all round photographer. Chris has a reputation of being warm, kind and easy going on set. His technical and commercial skills were fine-tuned whilst working with established photographers and his own business in marketing, travel and adventure, medical, corporate, events, fashion, food, product, wedding and family photography. This career has transpired across the dramatic changes from the Analog to Digital realm. Chris has also been a long time teacher and mentor in B/W Darkroom, Film and Digital photography, enthusiastically sharing his knowledge and skills with people of all ages and backgrounds.
