Over eight weeks, you will learn how to finally take full control of your digital camera and all its creative modes, including manual operation. You can use the skills gained in this course for your hobby, work or even to kick start a photography-based career.
We will explain the intricacies of the digital camera world in easy to understand language, perfect for complete beginners. You will leave your digital photography course competent to shoot anything from portraits, products, landscapes, travel, or whichever genre you choose.
This course is designed and curated by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography Master Photographer, Daniel Linnet. He has handpicked some of Australia's best Photographers as your Tutor's who are hungry to share their skills with you.
Course highlights:
  • Three-hour field trip around Sydney Harbour where we capture daylight, dusk, sunset and night photography (additional to the eight weeks of studio-based classes).
  • In-depth studio demonstrations and practicals.
  • Time at the end of the course to examine the best imagery captured during the course.
  • A night of music, pizza and soft drinks where we can all unwind and say our farewells.
  • Be selected in the best images 30 images from your intake in a breathtaking 'Top 30' that are showcased in our online exhibition.
This course is for participants with any digital camera that has the capability to shoot in manual mode. This is a hands-on, practical and fun digital photography course whether you are new to photography or making the transition from a point and shoot compact camera or smartphone.
Please note: Compact cameras without full manual capability are not suitable for this class.

What to bring
  • A digital SLR or any other camera with full manual capability – including mirrorless cameras.
  • Memory card(s).
  • Any camera accessories you may have – e.g. tripod, lens hood, etc.
  • Fully charged camera battery and spare if you have one.
  • Your camera's manual – for referencing those hard to find features.
Please note: A tripod and lens hood are strongly recommended. If you do not already have these you should consider purchasing them at your earliest convenience as they are an essential part of any good photography kit.

This class series runs over 8 consecutive sessions, at the same time every week.
