As a mum entrepreneur, my life looks like a race against time every day. Juggling the demands of my business, managing employees, caring for my family, and keeping our home running smoothly left little room for me to breathe. My usual escape was to go out to a restaurant with my family, but even those moments were often overshadowed by my teens glued to their phones, leaving me feeling disconnected and unfulfilled.
As Mother’s Day approached, I felt a longing for something different—a chance to truly connect with my kids and other mothers like me. That’s when the idea struck me: why not organize a painting and sip experience in my private Bali space? Nestled in nature, it was the perfect sanctuary to escape the chaos of daily life. I envisioned a place where laughter, creativity, and connection could flourish. I invited other mums and their kids of various ages, hoping it would be a refreshing change, but I never anticipated just how transformative it would be.
As we gathered in that magical space, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. To my surprise, my kids were completely absorbed in the activity, forgetting their phones and distractions. The focus of our gathering wasn’t on perfecting technique; it was about genuine connection and self-expression. While we provided instructions, the true magic lay in allowing everyone the freedom to create what their hearts felt. As I dipped my brush into vibrant colors, I discovered an artistic side of myself that I had long buried beneath the weight of responsibilities.
The three-hour experience flew by, filled with joy and creativity. The smiles on the faces of the other mums and their children were priceless. I realized that this was more than just a one-time event; it was a calling to create a space where others could experience the same joy and connection. And so, my painting business was born—a series of different painting events where sometimes just women, other times just families, and so on could come together to create, laugh, and unwind in our enchanting Bali space.
Now, as I look back on that transformative Mother’s Day, I am filled with gratitude. What started as a simple idea to connect with my children blossomed into a thriving business that not only brings joy to others but also allows me to nurture my creative spirit. In my busy life, I found my canvas, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next.
