You can’t make everyone happy, but pizza can! Guided by our pizza masters, learn the secrets to curating authentic Italian pizza from scratch using the finest seasonal ingredients and techniques in this Sydney cooking class.

Learn the inside info on what flour to use for pizza dough, how much resting time it needs, how to roll the dough into the ideal thickness for deliciousness. Then, of course, sauce, toppings and how to make it utterly heavenly!

We don’t want you drooling over your pizza dough, so you can sip on a glass of wine/beer and graze your way through some antipasto as you wait in anticipation of your creation.

After all the hard work and anticipation, you will finally be able to enjoy your delicious homemade pizza with your favourite beverage.

All the fundamental tips will be tucked under your hat when you leave and takeaway orders will be a thing of the past after you’ve attended this pizza making masterclass in Sydney with the Salt Meats Cheese team.

Our private cooking space as part of regular practice, is disinfected with food grade sanitiser along with all equipment and materials. Gloves are available and frequent washing of hands is already part of our cooking class schedule.

Originally based at Bourke Road in Alexandria, we have re-located our ‘Salt Meats Cheese Kitchen’ cooking school to our Circular Quay venue. At the same location is our newest addition, the fabulous rooftop Bar Ombre, now open for dining, sipping and events.

Queensland venues include Surfer’s Paradise on the Gold Coast, and in Brisbane, Newstead plus our sister venues La Costa, Cielo Rooftop, Eterna, La Valle and The Parlour, all located in Fortitude Valley!

Was an excellent class for all experience levels, Paulo our teacher was funny, informative and helped all at the table with personal advice and tips on the pizza making process.

The class unfortunately went significantly overtime. It was advertised as going from 2-4pm which we thought would work well with our baby’s breastfeeding schedule. We needed to leave at 4pm in order to get home to the Central Coast to breastfeed the baby and put her to bed. At 3.40pm it appeared that the class would not be finished at the advertised time of 4pm. We spoke to the teacher who advised that it would finish at 4.45pm. We made arrangements with the babysitter to string the baby out for 45 minutes so we could finish the class. At 4.20pm it was clear that the class would not finish at 4.45pm as the teacher advised because we had still not commenced putting sauce and toppings on the dough. As a result we ordered pizza to takeaway and were not able to complete the class. Other than timing issues the class was good, the teacher was charismatic and the antipasto was delicious. We would have loved to stay and learn about sauce and toppings and were really disappointed that so much of the designated class time was spent sitting at the antipasto table, rather than learning about how to make pizza. We are glad that we know about the process of preparing the dough and we hope that in the future we can complete the full class, as we would love to be able to master the full process of pizza making! The main feedback to improve is to advertise that the class goes from 2-5.30pm so that other breastfeeding mums can attend without stress.

Hi, so my friend and I went and we think it was such a fun experience to be a part of. The location was so easy to get to which was a lifesaver. The teacher was just perfect we had so many laughs and jokes and was so understanding and kind when I made a mistake, just guided me through it. The rest of the class was also wonderful. P.S we were not expecting the mini snack break which was offered so that was a wonderful surprise. So great definitely a must-do.

Atmosphere was fun and relaxed. Did not feel any pressure at all. Each station was prepared with the ingredients needed. Instructions and demonstrations were clear on how to mix and roll out dough.

This class was so much fun! Each step in the pizza making process was explained simply and thoroughly, not just showing us the how, but explaining why each step works the way it does.

The class atmosphere was so much fun, there was no pressure, and everybody felt comfortable whether they aced each step on the first go, or if they needed a bit of extra help or even had to start over.

The lunch at the end of the class where we could eat our own delicious pizzas as well as some delicious appetisers was a great addition, and it was so nice to be able to sit down and enjoy our pizzas.

I'd absolutely recommend any classes with Salt Meat Cheese, and I'll definitely be back for their pasta making class.

The class was great.
My partner and I attended the class on 3/01/2021; we were welcomed on arrival with a complimentary drink.
We had our station with all ingredients required and shared the bench with another couple. There were clear instructions and demonstrations throughout the afternoon.
Value for money was fantastic; we went home with our dough to make more pizzas and enjoyed plenty of food and drinks provided throughout the afternoon.

We all got to get our hands dirty making the dough from scratch. Loved how one of their pizzaioli went around the tables to help with technique tips. Very helpful.
We then all enjoyed our creations, which was a great way to enjoy the whole experience and socialise. A really nice class, great staff and great value (dough to take home, drink on arrival and antipasto). Would really recommend to others!

Lovely, knowledgeable teacher. We learnt so much about making pizza; looking forward to being able to try it at home!

The first part of the class you learn how to mix the items to make the dough, with tips on how to ferment it, and multiple ways to cook it (not only as pizza, but calzone, focaccia, and more)!

The second part of the class they supply you with pre made dough so you can learn how to stretch it out. Again the teacher shows you multiple ways to do it, as well as how to recover from mistakes such as holes in the dough.

Would love to come back for some or th other classes on offer, such as mozzarella and pasta making!
