What you'll do
Join our pottery workshop in Emu Plains and learn how to make your very own Chia Pet (terracotta figurines with chia sprouts growing through to resemble the creatures fur or coat)! This beginner-friendly class welcomes participants of all skill levels, so don't worry if you've never tried pottery before. We'll provide all the materials you need, including aprons to keep you clean and protected.
During the class, you'll learn the techniques and steps to create a one-of-a-kind Chia Pet. You'll have the freedom to let your imagination run wild and design a Chia Pet that reflects your unique personality. Whether it's a quirky animal, a whimsical creature, or a mini version of yourself, the possibilities are endless.
Our experienced instructor will guide you through the process, ensuring that you feel confident and supported every step of the way. You'll work with clay and other materials to shape and mould your Chia Pet, and then carefully apply the chia seeds to give it that distinctive, grassy coat once it has been fired.
At the end of the workshop, your cute chia pet will be ready to be fired. After four weeks, you'll be able to pick it up and take home. Each participant will receive either one large or two small Chia Pets, depending on their preference. Your Chia Pet will need some time to grow, but don't worry - we've got you covered. Upon completion of the workshop, you'll be given a complimentary bag of chia seeds to start your Chia Pet's growth journey.
