I teach because I believe more artists should endeavour to share the artistic skills we've accumulated over our careers with others. This action removes emphasis from industry-provoked competition and towards mutually benefitting community through art. Though I teach realistic portraiture, having taught both private and group classes around Australia for five years, I also like to encourage the discovery and development of my students personal styles when they show themselves. We all have something different to contribute and our creative expression can tell us much about ourselves, so I love to embrace this with my pupils. When it comes to my classes, there is absolutely no previous experience with paint, colour or painting necessary, as the classes are broken down and structured to teach you everything you need to know about all of it! Too often did I attend a prestigious art class only to be thrown in the deep end with minimal instruction and teacher time..
