In this exclusive rum spicing lesson, you’ll learn from one of the best rum distillers at Sydney’s only craft rum distillery who will teach you everything there is to know about rum. You’ll begin the rum class with a BRIX Spiced & Dry on arrival to get you into a rum tasting mood.

After a brief history of rum introduction, you’ll be able to see how it’s made at the distillery. Plus you’ll need to learn all about the important spicing process which our experts will be teaching you throughout the rum spicing masterclass.

Then you’ll learn to blend and have the chance to spice your very own rum using a variety of in-house spice and botanical infusions. During this process, you’ll be able to do some rum tasting to ensure you get your blends just right. But don’t worry, there will be cheese boards on offer to make sure you keep focused!

At the end of the rum making experience, you’ll be able to take home two of your own unique 200ml bottle of rum you just made! Now you’ve just got to hold a party to show off your new talent in rum spicing! You will also receive $10 gift voucher to for any Brix bottle purchases on the night.

After discovering that rum in Australia was not being reflected in the right light, we have set out for change. The Brix vision is to share our passion and adventures with Australia and the world.

In 2017, we set out to find a site where we could establish an urban distillery that showcased the best that Australia has to offer. We challenged ourselves to source the best quality Australian molasses, fresh organic sugar cane, an Australian made copper still, the best quality native spices, and Australian wine barrels from some of the best wine making regions of the world.

Our goal is ​to combine these amazing ingredients to create a unique Aussie rum. A rum that can be enjoyed in the bars of Australia and in our own backyards.

This class was incredible and so informative. The teacher was very friendly and was very educated in all things rum. He was so enthusiastic and you would tell he really loved doing his job.
The venue was very neat and clean and very inviting. Everything was well prepared and organized and in great condition. Very thought out.
It was definitely worth the money spent and I'll be 100% doing it again next time I'm in Sydney.

Great class. The teacher was very knowledgable and gives you an opportunity to really appreciate your favourite flavours. I like the upstairs area the class is held in, allows you an opportunity to really focus and gives you the VIP feeling. It's great to learn that Brix collaborates with other nearby businesses. Make sure to bring your best pun game for naming you new rum creation. Overall fun and informative.

Great location for a spice class. It was great being in the place where the whole process starts to where you end up with rum. The instruction was definitely knowledgable and very passionate about the whole process. It showed when he was giving us the walk through of how you get good rum. The class itself was quite fun and really open to how adventurous you want to be.
